McKinney Gifted & Talented Alliance is the support group for McKinney Independent School District's Gifted and Talented Program. We aspire to connect our members with the people and information necessary to enhance awareness, effectiveness, and a sense of community in parenting and guiding gifted and talented children. McKinney Gifted & Talented Alliance supports, facilitates, and encourages programs for gifted and talented students, both within the public schools and as extra-curricular activities, utilizing individual and community resources. We support MISD's efforts to provide qualitatively differentiated educational opportunities by which each student may advance towards his/her fullest potential. This community provides a chain of communication between MGTA, the greater community, the schools, and the Board of Education. We not only disseminate relevant and timely materials to our membership, but we also provide notification of pending local, state and federal legislation that may impact the gifted population.
